Weddings At Westchester

We believe that marriage is ordained by God. In the Bible, Genesis 2:21-24 states, “So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh at the place. And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man, and the man said, ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.’ For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.”

Marriage is a picture of Christ’s relationship to His church, that is to all believers who know Jesus Christ as personal Savior (Ephesians 5:22-23). Thusly, marriage is the most sacred relationship on earth. It must not be entered into lightly, yet at the same time it should be the most fulfilling and enjoyable union between man and woman.

Couples united in marriage must profess Christ as their personal Savior. Couples living together will be asked to reconsider their circumstances, humbly seek God’s forgiveness, and live apart until after their wedding. Thusly, marriage is the most sacred relationship on earth.

Information you should know …

Our desire as a church family is to make your wedding day as memorable as possible. To do that, the following information is provided to make this a reality:

  • Check with the church office to establish the date and time of wedding. This should be done at least 6-8 months prior to the actual wedding. Weddings will not be permitted after 4:00 pm on Saturdays if the reception is to be held on the premise.
  • Contact our Wedding Supervisor, Lori Wheatley #263-0312, who will assist you in contacting those involved with your wedding and reception.
  • Smoking or alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the church building and on the church grounds.
  • Due to the difficulty in cleaning up, it is requested that rice, confetti or paper streamers not be thrown in the church building nor in front of the church as the wedding party leaves. It is requested that real rose petals not be thrown in the church.
  • Decorating and removal of decorations in the sanctuary, reception area and dressing rooms is the responsibility of the wedding party.
